Bremo

Bremo from above

While heading home after shooting a project in Fluvanna County, our photographer spotted this construction, which merited a slight detour for a snap shot. It is the Palladian/Jeffersonian plantation house known as “Upper Bremo”. The house has an interesting history. WE want to go back and look closer on the ground!!!

More can be learned about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bremo_Historic_District

The James River from above

The bed of the James River near Fork Union

This is a photo looking straight down into the James River a little South and West of Fork Union. You are looking through relatively shallow water to the river bed, which consists of rock outcroppings surrounded by sand/mud. The fact that there is no scale makes it tricky!

We Are Lee

The entire student body assembled in front of the school to spell out (with pride) “WE ARE LEE”. It was a gorgeous day; Virginia Aerial Photography flew overhead and captured these shots:

Spring schedule

Virginia's Blue Ridge

With winter passing along, our spring schedule is starting to fill up. There is a window of opportunity when the world turns green and the forests are in bud – yet not leafed over. Its a great time of year for aerial shots. And yet winter has its own rewards with clear dry air and accents of blue.

This shot was taken looking south towards Afton, VA as we headed over the Blue Ridge to shoot (an map – more on that later!) a timber stand in Albermarle County.

Happy Mardis Gras!

October Snow Storm on the Blue Ridge

A rare early snow storm in October left the Blue Ridge bathed in fall colors mixed with white. Gorgeous!

Clean Water from Mt Crawford to Winchester

We recently shot four waste water treatment facilities in four locations throughout the Shenandoah Valley: North River (Mt. Crawford), Woodstock, Stepens City, and Winchester. These facilities keep our watershed clean!

Another shot of Staunton at night

Staunton's Red Brick district at night

Posting another Staunton night shot by request!

Below is a 100% crop… shows that the image is a little noisy thanks to the high ISO setting.
